Same with the cleanser/moisturiser/foundation cycle. IN America/Europe, relatively few white males will use moisturiser or cleanser, as opposed to other demographics, other than soap they use in the shower, yet their skin will be in usually similar condition as uncovered white women’s skin. And yet women are taught that two unseen forces of ‘DRYNESS!’ and ‘OILINESS!’ are ruining their skin and must be constantly battled. The cleanser used to ‘defeat oiliness’ dries out the skin, which then overproduces sebum to remoisturize and protect itself, but like the hair, overcompensates and causes blemishes and shininess. Fuck this.
